Pilot operation of the first model of the RA-26 rail bus, developed and produced at Kalugaputmash plant (part of Sinara-Transport Machines Holding), started in Cuba. Tests of the new equipment will last until the end of March, including those with simulated load.
RA-26 is a classic bus with 26 seats, put on the railway. Design speed is 60 km/h. The rail bus is designed for suburban railway routes of Cuba.
As part of the events on the occasion of Cuban Railway Worker Day, a delegation of industrialists led by First Deputy Minister of Transport Marta Oramas Rivero had a test trip on RA-26 from Angosta depot to Havana. The trip participants appreciated comfort, quality and convenience of the new STM product.
