PMA-S tamping machine for switches
The PMA-S Switch Tamping Machine is designed for correcting the track longitudinal level, cross level and alignment. Simultaneously with these operations, the machine compacts the ballast under the sleepers, near the sleeper butts, and under the switch bearers and frogs during construction at all types of repairs, and routine maintenance of the railway tracks.
A fundamentally new design of the lifting and leveling unit allows raising the parallel track synchronously with the main track, and completely eliminates the skew when clamping the parallel track panels. The clamp assemblies provide a precisely-controlled lift of the rails during switch-tamping operations. The PMA-S has an automatic system for positioning the tamping tools when the machine moves to the next tamping operation.
