Self-Propelled Snow Removal Train PSS-1К / PSS-2P

The PSS-1К and PSS-2P Trains are the snow and ice treatment trains designed for remov- ing snow around the running rails – specifically around bot- tlenecks,           points and cross- ings. The snow is churned up through an exhaust port into the train self-discharging cars from which it is mechanically unloaded in designated places. An alternative method is to pick up the snow lying on the road bed travelled by the train and to clear the snow to one side of the road bed. The train consists of a head car, one or two open self-discharging cars, an end car and a TPP PSS-1K powered vehicle (656 or 800 kW).
